Today is Good Friday, and the kids and I spent a little bit of time doing easy Easter Crafts in the warm sunshine! We have had so much rain lately, and the weather is calling for possible sleet on actual Easter… Yikes.
Easter is not usually a holiday I go “all out” for… Sophia brought me a list of things she would like the Easter Bunny to deliver to her, so I decided to really, really prune it down this year! We will be attending an Easter egg hunt at church tomorrow and then Easter Sunday services, but we are not doing any big Easter meal or anything. Some quiet family time will be really nice.
I did want to do one little fun thing for the girls though, and I was at Target a couple of nights ago to grab coffee and I saw these cute wooden eggs! We have a Japanese Maple tree in our front yard and I thought these would be the great beginning of an ornament collection to make our maple into an Easter tree!
I have been really obsessed with flowers lately! I am out of actual stems to cut from my yard so to make a quick little Easter bouquet, I snipped some of our bamboo (NEVER plant bamboo or buy a house with bamboo. IT WILL TAKE OVER YOUR YARD!), some of our azaleas, and a wisteria branch.
Holiday themed activities don’t have to always be so over the top. No matter the holiday, I do find myself going way overboard (usually). I’m glad I kept things pretty simple this year. I’ll be back Monday with an Easter holiday recap with baskets and dresses!
