You belong among the wildflowers \\ you belong in a boat out at sea \\ sail away, kill off the hours \\ you belong somewhere you feel free
Every year there are great U-Picks at Wild Things Farm in Oklahoma (we live on the AR-OK border, so like, 5 minutes from our house). I was super excited when I saw the Sunflowers blooming and we had a weekend free to enjoy them.
Summer vacation ends 2 weeks from today, and while I know it won’t feel like autumn for months yet, I love the pop of ‘fall’ that sunflowers bring.
This is like, the only photo I was able to get before Sophia noped out of the flowers and waited for us in the short grass. There were bees everywhere and she was crying, fearful of being stung. Next year, I’ll leave her home. 😉
One of my goals for my blog & social media platforms this year is to include more photos (good quality, not selfies) of myself. Lifestyle blogs aren’t lifestyle if you’re not actually showing how you live your life, right?
Olivia had a friend sleep over the night before, so we had a guest in the flower picking. More flowers for my house, she didn’t want to take them home. I was ok with that, haha.
Olivia is always the best model.
I can’t say the same for her photography skills, haha. She wasn’t really interested in doing what I asked her to do, so we ended up with mostly blur and a couple of accidentally-decent shots. 😛
Either way, I still had fun editing the images. It was not too hot out that morning, and a storm had just passed by so we had some nice cloud cover, and the rumble of thunder in the distance.
I definitely feel silly in front of the camera. I am much more comfortable being the photographer!
I was listening to a podcast the other day about goals and finding our direction. The topic was trigger words and the host challenged listeners to be still and think about the words that define us, that trigger us. What words attract us to others, and what words make us feel comfortable in ourselves.
This was a very interesting exercise in self-reflection.
My trigger words:
I’m going to create a vision board with all these words on it and hang it in my office. I’ve also been checking out Abraham Hicks and his teachings. I’m all about expanding my mind and spirit.
Take a second, and think about your trigger words. What are they? Share in the comments so I can get to know you better. Do we share any of the same trigger words? How do you use these words to guide you in your daily activities and goal setting?
